Why Get Cosmetic Injectables From a Dentist?

With their extensive knowledge of the physiology of the face, including nerves, muscles, and skeletal structure, dentists are uniquely qualified to help patients safely acheive a natural, refreshed look.

As a dentist, Dr. Klamut specializes in the oral and maxillofacial areas more than any other medical practitioner. He has years of experience injecting cranial nerves in the sensitive areas of the head.

Dr. Klamut is highly skilled in administering injections safely and comfortably. In order to offer this service to his patients, Dr. Klamut completed a Board-approved training program.  He is Board-Certified to deliver cosmetic injections safely and effectively.

Moreover, visiting the dentist for a cosmetic procedure offers a level of discretion that other providers aren’t able to offer.  You can even team schedule your cosmetic injection after a hygiene appointment and leave our office with a completely refreshed look!

Treatment for Facial Lines and Wrinkles

BOTOX® Cosmetic addresses fine lines and wrinkles caused by repeated movement of the facial muscles by blocking the signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can no longer contract, which causes the wrinkles to relax and soften.

Patients who get cosmetic injectable treatments for facial lines and wrinkles include women and men in a range of age groups. Not only does treatment improve the look of existing lines and wrinkles, but it can be used to prevent lines and wrinkles in younger patients.

You may notice a visible smoothing of frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines within 24 to 48 hours.  Results last up to 4 months for moderate to severe frown lines. If you discontinue treatment the moderate to severe frown lines, crow's feet and forehead lines will gradually return.

Non-Surgical Treatment for Gummy Smile

Excessive gingival display, more commonly known as a "gummy smile" occurs when 3 mm or more of the upper gum is exposed when smiling. While this condition is not harmful, many people with a gummy smile feel it detracts from their appearance.

Thanks to BOTOX® Cosmetic, there is a non-surgical approach to improving the appearance of the gummy smile. For this problem, we inject above the smile to relax muscles that cause the upper lip to lift excessively.

Treatment only requires a few injections and typically lasts about 12 weeks.

Migraine Treatment

BOTOX® has been used as a preventive chronic migraine treatment since 2010. Chronic Migraine is 15 or more headache days each month, with migraine on at least 8 of those days, and each headache lasting 4 or more hours. Many chronic migraine sufferers have benefited from adding BOTOX® to their treatment regimen.

If you suffer from chronic migraine and have tried two or three oral preventives with no success, you might want to ask your primary doctor if this treatment is appropriate for you. For migraine, the procedure takes about 20 minutes and involves injections in the forehead, temples, back of the head and top of the neck.

Treatment is typically given every 12 weeks or at intervals recommended by the primary doctor.

TMJ-TMD Symptom Treatment

The temporomandibular joints (TMJ) connect the jaw to the skull to the skull. These joints get a lot of use; they work every time one speaks, chews, swallows, or yawns. People with TMJ disorders, also referred to as TMD, experience pain in the jaw joint and muscles that control jaw movement.

If you suffer from chronic facial and neck pain as well as recurring headaches, you might have Temporomandibular Disorder, or TMD. When used to relieve the symptoms of TMD, BOTOX® can relieve jaw tension by relaxing the muscles around your TM joints so they are unable to engage in the movement of the jaw that causes headaches and pain.

BOTOX® treatment for TMD generally takes 30 minutes or less. Most patients experience relief between two days and one week post-treatment.

How Does it Work?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected into the muscles or deep into the skin.  It partially blocks nerve impulses to muscles or areas that have been injected, reducing muscle contractions to address the specific problem being treated.  The treatment is temporary, its effects wear off and muscles return to their normal function within three to six months depending on the procedure.

What Can I Expect from Treatment?

Minimal Injection Pain

In his dental practice, Dr. Klamut is known for his ability to minimize patient discomfort. In fact, if you are interested in injectable cosmetic treatment but are put off by the idea of the needle, we encourage you to consider visiting Smile Cape Coral.

Nobody understands fear of needles better than a dentist! Dr. Klamut has worked with many patients who have dental anxiety. He is skilled at making patients comfortable and working with them as they overcome their anxiety so they can get the treatments they want and the treatments they need. He would be happy to work with you if you want the benefits offered by cosmetic injectables but aren’t comfortable with the needle.

Natural Looking Results - No Frozen Face!

The work of a dentist frequently involves cosmetic procedures to improve the appearance of teeth or replace missing teeth. For these treatments, dentists must ensure that the enhancements or replacements look natural and fit with the overall balance of the patient’s face. Similarly, one of the key elements of a cosmetic injectable treatment plan is ensuring a natural looking result.

Dr. Klamut’s expertise in the structure and tissues of the face leaves his  patients looking like themselves, just refreshed and with fewer lines.
